Sam ReedSam Reed has been singing and performing with bands in and around Richmond, VA since 2006, but the passion she has for music goes back to early childhood. Whether singing in church or singing along to her parents’ old school records the gift of soul singing was always present. After meeting and working with Devonne Harris in 2012, Reed was finally convinced to start recording her solo project. With the help of Harris on production and a host of her favorite RVA musicians, she produces a sound that is undeniably soulful and resonates honesty.
Brooklyn born, Richmond raised, Caasim is an enigma of a DJ. The concept of his style depends on where and when you most recently heard him spin. Constantly evolving and shifting between genres and vibes, you’re sure to never hear the same thing twice. With influences ranging from French house to 90s boom-bap hip-hop to Baltimore club sounds, with everything in between, there’s no shortage of inspiration for his next set.
RVA LED Performers
The evening was made magical and playful by a roving troupe of LED performers. Guests were entertained and thrilled with LED hoop and LED jugging performance turning the Boulevard and the lawn of the Museum of History and Culture into a glowing dance floor.
Our thanks to LED performers, Eric Shibuya, Daria Alexis, Heather Page, Magnolia the Hoop Manipulator, and Susan Furman.
